Amanda E. Mueller, 98, Chippewa Manor Nursing Home, Chippewa Falls and formerly of 912 James St., Eau Claire died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls. She was born in the Town of Lincoln on May 1, 1904 the daughter of Johann and Auguste (Patzwald) Zimmerman III. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Fall Creek.\r\nAmanda married Walter R. Mueller on January 30, 1927 at Epiphany Lutheran Church. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church since their marriage and was a member of the Ladies Society.\r\nThey first farmed in the Town of Washington where she loved tending to her gardens and later at their home of many years in Eau Claire. \r\nSurvivors include six daughters, Gloria (Wayne) Porter of Strum, Elaine (Larry) Lires of Orem, Utah, Lavone (Gordon) Stalheim of Hixton, Marlys (David) Bjorklund of Strum, Beverly (Charles) Clemons of the town of Ludington, and Carolyn (Daniel) Hanson of Menomonie; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Laurena Mueller of Eau Claire; three half sisters-in-law, Ione Nelson and Delores Mueller of Eau Claire, and Kathleen Mueller of Bracket; two half brothers-in-law, Leonard of North Maplewood, MN, and Rolland (Joan) of Minnetonka, MN; and many nieces, nephews and friends.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in September 1999; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Loretta Mueller; three sisters, Helen Hehl, Adela Zimmerman, Olga Gonitzke; and two brothers, August and Reinhard Zimmerman.\r\nHer family appreciates the wonderful care Amanda received from the staff at Chippewa Manor.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Epiphany Lutheran Church with Pastor Frederick C. Sauder officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Clear Creek. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
