Obituary

Andrew Leroy Anibas, 79, of Eau Claire, died peacefully at home with loving family at his side on Thursday, August 21, 2008.\r\nHe was born March 24, 1929, in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Andrew Sr. and Mildred (Crawford) Anibas.\r\nHe married Dorthea "Dort" Burseth in 1949, at St. Patrick's Church in Eau Claire, by Father Brady.\r\nAndrew owned Andy's Drywall for many years and passed the business to his son Tom at the time of his retirement in 1985.\r\nHe was a longtime member of the fraternal order of the Eagles Chippewa Valley Aerie #2213 and Eau Claire Moose Lodge #1408.\r\nBoth Andy and Dort were long time members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.\r\nHe was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the chase of the elusive ruffled grouse. He enjoyed all of the trips to Canada, Wyoming, Alaska, and Florida with his wonderful north side friends.\r\nAndrew is survived by two sons, Jim (Margaret) of Anchorage, AK and Tom (Judi) of Eau Claire; three daughters, Kari (Dennis) Gilroy of Lincoln, MO, Suzie (Larry) Overholser of Boise, ID, and Kelly (Ken) Lee of Greenwood, MN; six grandchildren, Ellie (Walter) Eunice of Eagle River, AK, Cassie Anibas of Anchorage, AK, Johanna Overholser of Boise, ID, Grace Gilroy of Lincoln, MO, and Keaton and Karson Lee of Greenwood, MN; two great grandchild, Faith Hana and Walter Eunice III of Eagle River, AK; four sisters, Theresa Kern of Eau Claire, Lois (Gerald) Ellenberger of Eagle River, WI, Irene (Richard) Wilson of Eau Claire, and Janet Anibas of Altoona; a brother, Ronnie (Nancy) Anibas of Chippewa Falls; one brother-in-law, Gordon (Janice) Burseth of Huntley, IL; and cousins, nephews and nieces.\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy in Jan. of 2008; two brothers-in-law, James Burseth of Holmen, WI and Russell Kern of Eau Claire.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. Public Prayer Service Monday evening at the funeral home.\r\n
