Andrew Carlson, 96, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2013, in the loving care of Transitions at Dove West and St. Joseph's Hospice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence and son, John. He is survived by his sons, Edward and Stephen (Elizabeth); daughter, Theresa (Russ) DeBoer; and daughter-in-law, Pat Carlson; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Andrew was born in Eau Claire on January 1, 1917, to Arthur and Anna (Gormley) Carlson and was a lifelong resident. He was a skilled machinist having enjoyed a long work career at Uniroyal. Andrew was a founding/charter member of St. Olaf Catholic Parish and was an active supporter of Regis High School for many years. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St. Eau Claire, with Fr. Brian Konopa officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. Eau Claire with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire. Special thanks to the Sommer family for their friendship, love and support over the past 11 years.
