Andrew John King, 39, of Chippewa Falls, WI, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at his home. Andrew was born in Chippewa Falls on July 6, 1974, to Tim and Lynette (Wood) King. Andrew, better known as "Andy" or "AJ" was widely known for his accomplishments as a martial artist. Over the years he studied many different styles and earned the highest honors and title of Renshi. Most recently he studied Shishikan, under Hanshi Kevin Pereira, who served as both an instructor and dear friend to Andy. He was the absolute happiest when he was teaching and imparting his vast knowledge to others. Andy was a very kind and gentle hearted man, often referred to as a teddy bear. He worked with the developmentally disabled at Reach, Inc. in Eau Claire and was known for his compassion and soft heart for the clients. Andy was known for being a romantic. He loved TV (especially Big Bang Theory), movies (his favorite being the Godfather series) and music (Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Johnny Cash). He loved learning new things and was always reading and writing. Andy loved working out and had many friends that he met through the gym. He worked hard at staying active throughout his life and had earned many awards and national titles in kickboxing and martial arts. Andy loved a good get-together. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and their lives will forever have a space for him until we meet again in Glory. Above all, Andy loved and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a great example of what Christ had instructed us to be, by being compassionate, caring, and loving. Andy is survived by his parents, Pastors Tim and Lynette King of Chippewa Falls; maternal grandfather, Pastor Darrel (Linda) Wood of Jim Falls; three brothers, Brian (Heather) King of Chippewa Falls, Joe (Heidi) King and Antonio (Bertha) Pimentel, both of Eau Claire; sister, Christina (Carlos) Santamaria of Altoona; special cousin, Robyn King of Altoona; girlfriend, Sarah Boos and her two children, Erica and Gracie of Chippewa Falls; nieces and nephews, Cedrik, HannahLynn, Maximus, Jazmin, Toñito, and Serenity; as well as many other special relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Charlotte King; and maternal grandmother, Ethel Wood. "Osu" is a martial arts term that means perseverance under pressure. Andy always ended every message, conversation, every thought with 'Osu". So Andrew's family and closest friends leave you with this … "Osu, Love ya!" Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at LenmarkGomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with Pastors Pete Barby and Dale Raatz officiating.
