Obituary

Andrew James King, 38, of Eau Claire died unexpectedly Thursday, January 11, 2007 at his home in Eau Claire.\r\nAndy was born August 6, 1968, in Eau Claire to his parents, Pat and Ray King. He attended St. James the Greater Catholic School, St. Patrick Middle School, and graduated from Regis High School in 1987. He went onto Brown Institute in Minneapolis, and received an Associate's Degree in Broadcasting in 1991.\r\nAndy worked at several radio stations throughout West Central Wisconsin including WHTL in Whitehall, WAXX, WCFW, WBIZ, and COW 97 Country in Sparta. He thoroughly enjoyed broadcasting on the radio but was forced to give it up due to health conditions. He worked for Menards in Eau Claire and Hudson. While living in River Falls, WI he worked for Arch Communications in Minneapolis. He was currently working for Catholic Knights Insurance Society in Eau Claire.\r\nAndy was an avid Packer and Badger fan, but also enjoyed baseball and NASCAR on television. Along with the Packers, his favorite team was any team who beat the Vikings (his Mothers and Aunt Doll's favorite team). Andy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.\r\nAndy is survived by his parents, Pat and Ray King, a sister, Heather (Eddie) Yates, along with two special nieces, Haley and Ashlyn Yates; also by six aunts, Pat (Dave) Morgan, Marge Petersen, Carole Meyer, Eleanor Stroot, Margie Stroot, and Carol (Ed) Rodakowski; three uncles, Gene Stroot, Don Stroot, Bob (Jayne) Stroot; three great aunts, Marlyn King, Pat Lerum, and Mae Hotvedt and many, many cousins, and friends.\r\nAndy was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; a special Aunt Doll, and several aunts, uncles, and a cousin.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, where there will be a 5:30 p.m. prayer vigil service, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at church.\r\nMemorials are preferred to the Epilepsy Foundation of Western WI, 1812 Brackett Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701.\r\n
