Ann M. Nelson, 92, of Eau Claire, WI, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Our House Service Living-Memory Care in Chippewa Falls, WI. She was born November 24, 1913, to Magnus and Marie (Pedersen) Hauschildt in Milwaukee, WI. \r\nWhile she was still a young girl, her family moved to Withee, to farm. Ann graduated from Withee High School with the class of 1932, and went to business school in Eau Claire for a year. \r\nShe married Theodore H. Nelson on October 19, 1940, in Eau Claire. They lived in Eau Claire, Amery, then Duluth, MN, until moving to Red Oak, IA in 1951. There they owned and operated Nelson Funeral Home. After the death of her husband in 1965, Ann continued to operate the funeral home until 1975. She then opened the "Golden Thimble" Yarn and Craft Shop in Red Oak. Three years later, she moved back to Eau Claire.\r\nShe was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. In Red Oak, she had been a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, Ladies' Aid, and Altrusa International. Ann was an avid quilter and a member of Embroiderers' Guild of America.\r\nSurvivors include her two daughters, Karen (Stephen) Schrage of Eau Claire, Christina (Dr. William) Nicolaus of Mill Creek, WA; son, Peter Nelson of Reno, NV; three granddaughters, Kirsten, Laura and Anna Schrage; grandson, Justin Boyd; and a brother-in-law, Peter Peissig of Madison.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore in 1965; a brother, Alfred Hauschildt and a sister Esther Peissig.\r\nMemorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak, Iowa with Rev. Dr. George Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak. \r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1101 E.
