Anna (Tangen) Anderson, age 96 of Eau Claire, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire. She was born on July 3, 1917, to Arne and Olena (Olson) Tangen in Eau Claire. Ann graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in January of 1935, and from Eau Claire State Teacher's College in 1938, with a degree in education. Ann, as she was called, was married to Charles "Ike" Anderson on March 4, 1939. She was a faithful wife and mother to two boys and grandmother to five. She enjoyed traveling, reading, walking, swimming, camping, driving for FISH (an organization to drive people to doctors, therapists and stores), and delivering meals-on-wheels. She cared for her sister, Victoria Nitz for seven and a half years. Her life centered on her love for the Lord in many activities in the church, including teaching for many years. Ann is survived by her sons, Mikkel (Sheila) Anderson of Baraboo WI, and Mark (Donna) Anderson of Janesville WI; grandchildren, Christie, James, Christopher, Timothy and Tremayne; great-grandchildren, Madison, Donavan, Mai, Vanessa, Theo, Aria and Rose; nieces Tonja Schlageter, Peggy Schulte, Dianne Thompson; along with many cousins and other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ike; sister, Victoria; and brother, Arthur. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at First Lutheran Church Chapel, 1005 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Amy Odgren will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Lisa Lekvin for being a dear friend and making Ann's last few years happy and smooth. Also, a special thanks to Ann's neighbors, who have been good friends and helpers, making Ann's life easier throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703.
