Obituary

Annabelle Ferigan, 90, of Eau Claire passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital in Chippewa Falls. She was born on June 17, 1917, in a log cabin built by her grandparents in the Town of Albany, Pepin County WI, a daughter of John and Stella (Scott) Cowell.\r\nShe grew up on a farm in rural Rock Falls and attended Thomas School, a one-room schoolhouse, through the eighth grade.\r\nAnnabelle married John Theodore Ferigan at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Together they raised their four children: Marcella "Sally", Mary, Patricia "Patty" and John "Jack". After her husband John's death in 1972, she worked at the Clairemont Nursing Home until her retirement in 1980.\r\nAnnabelle is survived by her four children, Sally (Fred) Black of Eau Claire, Mary (Dick) Brown of Fall Creek, Patty (Jake) Kueber of Bruce, and Jack (Mary) Ferigan of Eau Claire; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Lyle and Kevin Black; two sisters, Hattie Wheeler and Alice Vogler; and three brothers, Johnnie, Merle and Ed Cowell.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 322 Fulton St., Eau Claire, with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be a Public Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
