Arin Elizabeth (Gillmore, Barclay) Staidl, age 35, of Chippewa Falls, lost her battle with mental health complications after a valiant fight on June 5, 2017, at her home. Arin came into this world kicking and screaming during a cold, snowy blizzard on January 11, 1982, in Racine, WI. She attended Cleghorn Elementary School in Eau Claire and later graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High in 2000. After that, she went on to serve our country with the US Army where she realized her dream of living in her ancestral homeland of Germany. After leaving the service, Arin made a home for herself in Germany. She had many happy memories of her friends and chosen family while living abroad. Arin loved to learn, which always leaned to the mechanical; she had many achievements in welding and diesel mechanics. She was a skilled operator of vehicles who loved driving the Autobahn and always missed the opportunity to really let a car perform upon relocating back to the States. Arin's love for animals meant she had a menagerie of pets, all of whom were animals other families had previously given up on. In 2007, she completed the necessary coursework to become a Veterinary Technician. Of all of Arin's skills and contributions to our world, nothing compared to her greatest life joy, her sons Cecil and Monty. Arin is survived by her beloved sons, Cecil and Belmont "Monty" Staidl; her mother, Patti (Mike) Sobolewski; sister, Sarah (wife, Kristen Rucinski) Gillmore; former spouse, Josh Staidl; aunts and uncles, Carol (John Ahlgrim) Jens, Kathi (Chuck) VanAcker; Kris (Tom) Chiapete; Sue (Fred) Merten; as well as numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Belmont and Ruth Johnson; her cousin, James Chiapete; and beloved pets. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be forwarded to Royal Credit Union for Cecil and Belmont's education. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, with Rev. Sandra McKinney officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 53 following the services at the funeral home on Saturday. To express online condolences, please visit www.lenmarkfh.com
