Arlene B. Anderson, age 87, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Care Partners in Eau Claire. Arlene was born on March 14, 1928, in Eau Claire, a daughter of Ernest and Martha (Ciszak) Tomsen. She married Shirley "Andy" Anderson on February 1, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire. They resided in Eau Claire their entire married life. Arlene worked at Samuelson's for many years. She enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on Ten Mile Lake in Chetek, as well as camping at State and County Campgrounds. She also enjoyed sewing, especially making quilts and playing cards. She thoroughly enjoyed her occasional casino trips with family and friends. Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Al) McElroy of Hayward, WI, and Jean (Bob) Bjornton of Punta Gorda, FL; four grandchildren, Christine (Dennis) Hutkowski, Patrick McElroy, Jackie Bjornton and Nicole (Craig Peterburs) Bjornton; thirteen great-grandchildren, Zach, Teara, Alyssa, Katie Jo, Tanner, Alex, Bobby, Annie, Ellie, Maxwell, Samuel, Marissa and Carson; one great-great-grandchild, Arya; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Andy"; parents; brother, Bernard; sister-in-law, Sally Tomsen; infant brother, Donald; twin great-grandsons; and a niece and nephew. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Noon, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey St. in Eau Claire, with Father George Thayilkuzhihottu officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services is serving his family.
