Obituary

Arlene Beatrice Flasher, beloved family member and friend to all, died peacefully on December 7, 2013. She will be dearly missed by those who came to know her during her 86 well-lived years in the Eau Claire area. She was born at home on March 10th, 1927 to Herman and Muriel (Madison) Scheidecker in the Town of Grant, Dunn County, WI. Gordon Flasher and Arlene were married on May 15, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Together they raised five children, and were active community members at Randall School and Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Arlene made lifelong friends while selling Avon, Tupperware, and Stanley products from home and also working at Kresges and Holsum Bakery. She will be long remembered by all for her generous and genuinely kind spirit shared with all. Arlene always had a pot of coffee, cookies in a gallon sized glass jar and a game of cards ready for anyone who stopped by. She is survived by her children; Pat (Jim) Oelke, Mark (Karen) Flasher, Nancy Flasher and Mary (Jorge) Flasher de Padron; son-in-law, Dick Sather; sister, Deloris (Wesley) Paulson; dear friend, Verlyn Kirchoff; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and countless relatives and friends, all of whom were Arlene's love and joy. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Ida (Broberg) Scheidecker; husband, Gordon; daughter, Karen Sather; grandson, Bart Oelke; 3 sisters, Helen Fehr, Lorraine Knutson, and infant Lucille; and 2 brothers Roger and Donald Scheidecker. To honor Arlene's love of family and the care she took to assure we all had plenty to eat, memorials can be made to Luther Park 944 24
