Arlene R. Onstine, 79, of Eau Claire died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. She was born in Independence, Wisconsin on January 25, 1927, the daughter of Ervin and Elsie (Back) Wolfe.\r\nArlene married Orville E. Onstine on August 11, 1951, in Stillwater, MN. They moved to Milwaukee in 1955.\r\nShe worked sixteen years at Master Lock Company in Milwaukee until her retirement in 1989.\r\nIn 1993, Arlene and Orville moved back to Eau Claire and became members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.\r\nShe loved all her children and grandchildren unconditionally, and will be greatly missed. She taught us family values and kept us close. She loved crocheting, and we all have something she made. Arlene was also a great cook who looked forward, especially on holidays, to have family gather at her home. She enjoyed summertime at her trailer near the lake in Birchwood, which she wanted all to use and enjoy. \r\nArlene is survived by her six children, Beverly Petrowsky of Eau Claire, WI, Carol Hohndorf of Eau Claire, Steven (Joan) Onstine of Eau Claire, Diane (Doug) Lau of West Bend, Kenneth (Deb) Onstine of Milwaukee, and Janet (Dwayne) Knollenberg of West Bend; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren 1 great-great grandson; her brother, Darvin (Vivian) Wolfe of Chetek; three sisters, Delores Bowe of Chetek, Joyce (Hank) Caza of Chippewa Falls, and Lorraine Plasch of St. Paul, MN\r\nArlene was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; her parents; a sister, Barbara Wolford; and a son-in-law, Ernest Petrowsky.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Carlton Kangas and Vicar Joel Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\n
