Armenia "Mitz" L. Nowak, 97, of Eau Claire, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at River Pines-Altoona. Armenia was born at home on the farm in Lincoln Township near Brackett, Eau Claire County on March 15, 1921, to Albert and Lillian (Erdman) Paul. She attended country school near Fall Creek until 8th grade and then went to work at Luther Hospital. Armenia was married at the age of 16, to LaVern Nowak on April 12, 1937, at the parsonage at Sacred Heart Church. Together they raised two children, Neil and Eileen. She lived her entire life in Eau Claire and did some factory work during the war and later worked at a retail store. Armenia loved to watch the birds and garden strawberries, raspberries and flowers. Armenia is survived by two children, Neil Nowak and Eileen (Tim) LaFavor; two grandchildren, Jason and Larissa LaFavor; great-granddaughter, Madelynn LaFavor; sister, Jean Rogneby; sister-in-law, Judy Adams; and also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, LaVern; siblings, Mildred Yndestad, Orville Paul, Gerald Adams and Lamoine Adams. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Deb Boynton officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 am, on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Eau Claire.
