Obituary

\r\nArmond Joseph Beguhn, 82, of Eau Claire, died Friday, February 9, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, after suffering a stroke February 5th.\r\nArmond was born on June 29, 1924, to Emil and Elsa (Birkholz) Beguhn in Menomonie, WI. He was baptized at birth and confirmed by Rev. Juneau at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High with the class of 1942.\r\nFollowing graduation, Armond joined the U.S. Air Force on July 31, 1942 and served in the China Berma India Theater in World War II. He was honorably discharged on January 6, 1946. Armond continued to stay in the Air Force Reserve for another 24 years following his discharge. \r\nHe married Abigail Nelson June 3, 1950, in Osseo, WI. \r\nArmond was employed as a sales representative for Linpark Clothes, D'Toggery, Liggett&Myers Tobacco Co., and retired from Boyle-Midway, a Division of American Home Products.\r\nHe enjoyed following the activities of his grandchildren, reading, traveling, bird watching and model railroading. He was a member of United Commercial Travelers (U.C.T.), East Side Steering Committee, and Indianhead Model Rail Road Club. \r\nHe was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, council member, and usher.\r\nArmond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Abigail; three daughters, Carolyn Lopez of Atlanta, GA, Julie (Mark) Long of Missoula, MT, and Emily (Ed) Severson of Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Traci Lopez of Atlanta, GA, Randy and Adam Long of Missoula, MT, D.J. Severson of LaQuinta, CA, and Holli Severson of Fargo, ND; a brother Eugene "Bugs" of Eau Claire; and by many other relatives and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Arlys Ehrhard.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with the Rev. Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at church.\r\nMemorials are preferred to the charity of the donors choice.
