Arnold K. Olson, 91, of Altoona died Tuesday, March, 2, 2004 at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls. He was born September 5, 1912 in the Town of Naples, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, the son of Ole and Anna (Thompson) Olson.\r\nArnold married Adeline A. Krenz on June 23, 1939 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Adeline died in 1955. He married Harriet L. Ward on July 5, 1974 in Whitehall, WI.\r\nHe enjoyed attending auctions, thrift sales and clock collecting. He was proud of his service in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Arnold enjoyed spending time with his family.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Harriet; his six children, Gloria (Gene Edmundson) Hanvold, Sandra (Richard) Staats both of Pigeon Falls, Victoria (Roger) Krueger of Rubicon, Sharon (Victor) Foss of Blair, Maylin (Shirley) Olson of Boyd and Marlene (Jerry) Waldera of Pigeon Falls; fourteen grandchildren, Angie (Eric), Steven, Richard, Bradley (Karen), Connie (Bill), Kevin (Sherry), Jennifer, Peter (Dena), Joel (Sherrie), Samuel, Jamie, Whitney, Chris; and step-granddaughter, Brandee; twenty-four great grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Hollister of Fall Creek; sister-in-law, Eleanor Olson of Eau Claire; three step-children, Ronald (Sue) Ward of Mount Horeb, Sue Shoemaker of Eau Claire, Earl (Beth) Ward of Granite City, IL; seven step-grandchildren, Kevin (Robin), Kyle, Sarah, Jenni, Ashley, Jade, and Jessie; one step-great granddaughter, Madeline and expecting a step-great granddaughter, Katie; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nArnold was also preceded in death by his parents; son, LaMoine in 1970; two granddaughters, Cynthia Jennings and Laura Krueger; a step great-grandson, Mitchell; a son-in-law, Kenneth Hanvold; two brothers, Oscar and LaVern; four sisters, Sadie Olson, Ona Scharmer, Marion Spangberg, and Gladys Rongholt.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Hope Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastors Roger R. Skatrud and Dale Moe officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Augusta.
