Arthur L. Mikelson, 85, of Eau Claire, died peacefully Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at his home with his family by his side. \r\nHe was born on May 29, 1921, in Eau Claire to Emil and Ida Marie (Loomis) Mikelson.\r\nArt was a veteran of WWII serving in the Finance Dept of the Air Force for 3 ½ years from August 17, 1942, until the time of his honorable discharge on February 11, 1946. He was employed in the Trucking Industry for more than 40 years and also in the Nursery Business for several years. \r\nArthur was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church serving on the Board of Deacons, the Archives Committee, and as a Sunday school teacher.\r\nSurvivors include his daughter, Lynn (Larry) Wilson and beautiful granddaughter, Emily Dixon of McCall, ID; his sons, Joel and Hans (Laurie) and beautiful grandchildren, Holly Mikelson, Jason Mikelson, and Matthew Mikelson, all of Eau Claire; his loyal sister, Ann (Calvin) Capelle of Eau Claire; his former wife, Katherine, of Eau Claire; and his niece, Priscilla Haehn of Fort Lauderdale, FL.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his nephew and fishing partner, Terry Capelle.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with Rev. Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Family and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nMemorials in Arthur's name are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W.
