Obituary

ARVILLA C. "SHIM" HAUG, 82, of 615 Folsom St., died Tuesday, February 4, 1997 at Luther Hospital. She was born June 9, 1914 in the Town of Woodmohr near Bloomer, to Henry and Hulda (Meyer) Schimmel. She grew up and received her education in the Bloomer area. On July 9, 1949, Arvilla married George Haug at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe worked at Sears in the catalog department until her retirement in 1979. Until her illness, Arvilla had been an active member at First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, gardening and traveling. Her care and concern touched the lives of many. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include her husband; a daughter, Nancy Soley and grandson, Brian Soley both of Eau Claire; two sisters, Ramona Mowry of Bloomer and Lorraine Pietz of Cudahy; several nieces and nephews. \r\nArvilla was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elnora Schimmel and Leona Sohier; and two brothers, Arthur and Gerald Schimmel.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nThe Family requests that memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
