Audrey J. Olson, 91, of Eau Claire, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 20, 2017, at Syverson Lutheran Home, Eau Claire, with her family by her side. Audrey was born on January 6, 1926, in Eau Claire, to Elmer and Mabel (Swanson) Barbo. She attended Eau Claire High School and graduated with the Class of 1943. Audrey married Richard M. Lund in Ogden, UT, on March 11, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1977. She then married John "Jack" R. Olson in Reno, NV, on June 21, 1983. He preceded her in death in 1999. Audrey was a member of the Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary for many years, serving as a volunteer. She was also a member of Spirit Lutheran Church and the Altar Guild Society. Audrey was a lifelong baseball fan who supported the Boys of Summer from the family level to the pros. Known as "Baseball Grandma", she rarely missed a Brewers broadcast and for years attended their spring training in Arizona. Later in life she even made it to a World Series game! Her greatest treasures on Earth were her faith in God and her family. She adored her children and grandchildren and taught them all the importance of God, love and family. Audrey is survived by her children, Richard (Sallie) Lund of Findlay, OH, Mary (Ken Jain) Lund of Eau Claire, and Thomas (Adele) Lund of Mequon; three step-children, David (Kathy) Olson of Washburn, and Debra (Richard) Krahn and Sally (Steve) Burns, both of Eau Claire; 9 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ginny (Art) Anderson of Holmen, Mary Call of Surprise, AZ, and Steve (Jan) Barbo of Fairbault, MN; and special relatives, including Nancy Higgins. Audrey had many friends, including high school classmates and work friendships that have spanned decades. She was also blessed with new friends in recent years – many at Good Shepherd Senior Apartments. Audrey is preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; an infant grandson, Kevin Olson; a great-grandson, Garrett Lund; and sister, Gloria Ottestad. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Spirit Lutheran Church, 1310 Main St, Eau Claire, with Pastor Roger Benrud officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. A private burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
