Obituary

August "Fritz" F. Ausman, 81, of Chain Lake, and formerly of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek.\r\nHe was born in Eau Claire, WI, on May 14, 1927, the son of August and Lillian (Walter) Ausman. He graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1945. \r\nFritz served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged on July 24, 1946. \r\nOn April 15, 1950, Fritz married Muriel J. Olson at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire. \r\nFritz served his masonry apprenticeship under Tony Luhm in early 1950's. He started his own mason contracting business in the late 1950's and was a life long member of the Bricklayers&Allied Craftsman Local 19. He also was a member of the Eau Claire Moose Lodge, Eau Claire Eagles. Fritz was the Past President of the Chain of Lakes Lake Association. Among his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing.\r\nFritz is survived by his wife of 58 years, Muriel; daughter, Nancy Ausman-Dhatt of Barron; a son, Kirk (Susan) Ausman of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Logan Ausman of Evanston, IL, Alexandra Ausman of New York City, and Sonia Dhatt of Barron; and by close family friend, Rosanne Peterson of Thorp. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.\r\n
