Obituary

Bambi L. Raven, 49, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Montana, from a motorcycle accident. \r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on January 8, 1960, a daughter of Warren Dohms and Eileen (Gregory)Rieder.\r\nShe graduated from Chi-Hi, Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 1978. \r\nBambi married James L. Raven on August 22, 1981.\r\nShe and Jim own and operated JR Mfg&Repair in Chippewa Falls.\r\nBambi's charismatic personality made it easy for people to become her friends. It was hard to leave her presence without a smile.\r\nShe enjoyed making handmade quilts for the soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they are now present all around the world. Bambi kept in contact with the many soldiers and their families that sent her thank you letters and photos. She also gathered clothing and gifts to send there for the children of those countries. She was proud of her husband and sons, and what they stand for. She was always there for her boys and never let them down. Her sons looked forward to holidays and birthdays to gather at home and enjoy a homemade meal and conversation. Bambi loved those times with her grandchildren and looked forward to every opportunity to be with them. \r\nBambi loved caring for her own dogs, and enjoyed volunteering at the Eau Claire Animal Humane Society.\r\nBambi is survived by her husband James; three children, Bryan (Aarika) of Eau Claire, Jakob of Ellabell, GA, and Jack Raven of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Bryanna, Chloe, Jacey, and Sydney; her mother, Eileen Rieder of Chippewa Falls; father, Warren (Carol) Dohms of Fall Creek; five sisters, Terri (Paul) Dahlstrom of Berlin, Cathi (Dave) Schlewitz of Ladysmith, JoDi (Steve) Oman of Bruce, Dawn (Bruce) Heuer and Sarah Rieder both of Chippewa Falls; her brother, Warren (Carmen) Dohms of Cadott; father-in-law, Jack Raven of Bloomer; two brothers-in-law Tony Buchanan of Lawrenceville, GA, and Brad Raven of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Rebecca Raven of Lawrenceville, GA; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.\r\nA Celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. Dr. Gary Paul officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the Eau Claire Humane Society, 3900 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701\r\n
