BARBARA J. HALLIGAN, age 64, of 1707 Hillsdale Road died Monday, March 23, 1998 at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born in Eau Claire on February 24, 1934 to Walter and Dahlia (Kriesel) Kunert. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1951. Barbara was united in marriage to Dwight E. Halligan on August 13, 1955 in Eau Claire. She was a receptionist with her husband, Dr. Dwight Halligan, Optometrist until her retirement. \r\nBarbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, UCT Auxiliary and the Optometric Auxiliary. She served many years as a volunteer in the critical care lounge at Sacred Heart Hospital. Barbara enjoyed time out at their lake home with her dogs, and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. \r\nSurvivors include, her husband, Dwight; her mother, Dahlia of Eau Claire; two aunts, Mabel Peterson of Eau Claire and Gertrude Kunert of Fall Creek; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews and cousins. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her father.\r\nBarbara was a loving and supportive wife, to her husband Dr. Dwight Halligan in his Optometric practice.
