Barbara J. Thompson, 71, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, October 8, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire on June 22, 1942, a daughter of James and Beverly (Kleven) Pendergast. Barbara graduated from Eau Claire High School with the Class of 1959. Barbara married Douglas Thompson on June 24, 1961, Eau Claire. Barbara was a dedicated employee at H&R Block during the tax season and enjoyed the time she spent with her co-workers. Barbara loved country music and going to Country Jam every year. She also enjoyed going to Black River Falls with her husband, Doug. Barbara was a member of Our Savior`s Lutheran Church. Barbara was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved many and was loved by all, and will be sadly missed. Barbara is survived by her husband, Doug; a son, Timothy Thompson of Minneapolis, MN; two daughters, Tami (Kirk) Dahl of Altoona and Trisha (Chris) Casey of Prior Lake, MN; six grandchildren, MacKenzie, Alec, and Gabrielle Dahl, and Quinn, Sawyer and Liam Casey; a brother, Rick (Ellen) Pendergast of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Judy Pendergast of Eau Claire; and also by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jim Pendergast. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until Noon, with a Memorial Service to follow at Noon, on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Paul Larson officiating. Inurnment will be in Brunswick Cemetery, Town of Brunswick, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
