Beatrice "Beatie" Helen Heuer, 87, of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, surrounded by family at Grace Willowbrook Assisted Living of Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire on December 3, 1930, the daughter of Otto and Selma (Thoen) Gullickson. Beatrice married Harvey C. Heuer in Eau Claire, on June 26, 1948, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Together they had five children: Gary, Danny, Kathy, David and James "Jimmy". Beatrice enjoyed the backyard parties with neighbors and friends, especially at their former residence on Hudson St. She also enjoyed her years with her card club, walking at the mall and coffee time. Just the week before her passing, Beatrice enjoyed visiting with friends and family at her son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Sheryl's 50th Anniversary party. Mom spent her last remaining 8 ½ years at Grace Willowbrook, where she embraced an additional family. The staff and residents helped her adjust to a new lifestyle with activities, social hour and old-time music. Her favorite activity was Bingo. Beatrice is survived by one son, Gary (Sheryl) Heuer of Eau Claire; her daughter, Kathy Radle of Altoona; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Rick) Hanson, Sara Heuer, Valarie (Jason) Bauer, Jessica (Kurt) Noyes, Alex (Amanda) Heuer, Paul Heuer and Jamie Ivanov (DJ); sisters, Shirley Pichler and Carol (Don) Marquardt; great-grandchildren, Beau, Reid and Jack Dalton, Oliver and Vivienne Heuer, Jocelyn Bauer, Madelyn Noyes, Ava and Briar Stephens, Leora Ivanov; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; three sons, David, Danny and James Heuer; two brothers, Wayne and Richard Gullickson; and a sister, Arlene Hovde. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018, Spirit Lutheran Church (formerly Our Saviors Lutheran Church), 1310 Main Street in Eau Claire, with Pastor Roger Benrud officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service Friday at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
