Bernard "Bernie" L. Davis, 80, of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at his home.\r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on March 4, 1930, a son of Wilfred R. Davis and Lois Gwendolyn (Cripe) Davis.\r\nBernard married Ardelle M. Beck on December 22, 1950, at Chippewa Valley Church of the Brethern in rural Mondovi, Pepin County. .\r\nHe worked for 45 years at Pope and Talbot Paper Co. as an electrician until his retirement in December of 1993. \r\nBernard loved to travel foreign countries and places throughout the United States. He also loved to fix cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family attending many activities for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his younger days he had a passion for stock car racing and his Harley Davidson. \r\nHe was an active member of Rock Falls Baptist Church participating as a Deacon.\r\nBernard is survived by his wife, Ardelle; six sons, Terry (Debbie) Davis of Eau Claire, Larry (Tammy) Davis of Fall Creek, James (Susan) Davis of Fall Creek, Kenny (Jeana) Davis of Eau Claire, Carey Davis (Alisa King) of Colfax, Todd (Diann) Davis of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Heather Davis (Jim Prickett), David (Jen) Davis, Jimmy (Colleen) Davis, Kelly (Ray) York, Eric Davis, Jessica (Joe) Boesl, Trent (Kari) Davis, Calvin (Heidi) Davis, Jamie Davis (Aaron Wilson), Kristin Davis, Dustyn Davis, Jacob Davis, Andrew Davis; great-grandchildren, Paytyn, Ian, Landon, Molly, Max, Kaydence, Jocelyn Davis, and Milla York; a brother, Virgil Davis of Illinois; two sisters, Betty Murphy of Florida, and Donna (Jerome) Schuster of Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Berit Davis of Minneapolis and Lois Leahen of Milwaukee; aunt Della Davis of Indiana; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Davis, three brothers, Eldon Davis, Wesley Davis, and LeRoy Davis; nephew, Stephen Davis; and niece, Lynn of Florida. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Rock Falls Baptist Church in Rock Falls with Pastor Daniel Whitehead and Rev. Jerry Schuster officiating. Burial will be at East Pepin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. \r\nMemorials may be directed to the family of Bernard.\r\n
