Bernard Sewilo Sr., 82, of Eau Claire, died Friday, December 12, 2003 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in the town of Roosevelt near Lublin, Wisconsin December 3, 1921, the son of William and Sophie (Worwa) Sewilo.\r\nBernard married Joyce J. Smith on October 2, 1948 in Chippewa Falls.\r\nHe entered the U.S. Army during World War II in 1942, and served until his honorable discharge in 1943. \r\nBernard was employed at Uniroyal for almost 38 years until his retirement.\r\nHe is survived by three sons, Bernard "Bill" Jr. (Fiancé Karen Rude) of Eau Claire, Ronald (Fiancé Pamela Carey) of Augusta and Steven (Debra) of Rice Lake; a daughter, Pamela Brooks (Fiancé Fred Lechner) of Eau Claire; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Arlene) Sewilo of Prescott; two sisters, Ann (Robert) Wilson of Waukegan, IL and Stella Callmentor of Manitou Beach, MI; three sisters-in-law, Odetta Bresina (Fiancé Harry Lotts) of Bloomer, Loretta (Eugene) Pecha of Weyauwega and Edna Sewilo of Mora, MN; two brothers-in-law, Clayton Austin of Eau Claire and Walter (Janet) Smith of Chetek and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce earlier this month on Dec. 2nd; a daughter, Vicki Johnson; six brothers, John, Joseph, Frank, Louie, Stanley and Lawrence Sewilo; and four sisters-in-law, Carol Bergeron, Audrey Geist, Vera Kolpien and Janice Smith.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Cemetery.
