BERNARD J. THILL JR., age 71, of 3300 London Road, died Friday, March 13, 1998 at Oakwood Villa in Altoona. He was born August 25, 1926 in Oak Park,IL, to Bernard and Clementine (Nedvidek) Thill. He moved with his family to Onalaska,WI, where he grew up, graduating from Onalaska High School. Bernie was a veteran of World War II, serving with the US Marine Corp. Following the war he returned Onalaska and then later moved to Eau Claire where he was a watchmaker with Lasker Jewelers until his retirement. He was a Past Post Commander of American Legion Post #336 in Onalaska. Bernie's children will remember his expertise and love for fishing, which he shared and continued to enjoy experiencing with them. \r\nSurvivors include two sons, Nicholas and Charles both of Eau Claire; a daughter, Kristina Bernette (Michael) Drake of Jackson,OR; two grandsons, Paul and Tony Devine; a brother, Richard (Carol) Thill of LaCrosse; and a sister, Carol Schmitt of Port Richey,FL.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nThere will be no public services, Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home served the family.
