Bernice A. Lancette, age 92, of Eau Claire, formerly of Cadott, passed away on June 27, 2012, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire. Bernice was born near Baraboo, WI on February 2, 1920, to Oren and Ruby (Wilson) Rivard. She moved to rural Cadott in infancy and later lived in the Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Altoona, Elk Mound and Eau Claire areas. She attended grade school at Fairview (Crogg) School in the town of Sigel. She graduated from Cadott High School as valedictorian in 1938. Bernice married Robert Lancette on July 8, 1946. He passed away on January 4, 1967. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Gambles in Chippewa Falls and later at Morgan Music, Big Dutchman Company and Litchfield Truck Sales and Service in Eau Claire. Bernice favored the outdoors growing flowers, trees and vegetables and playing golf. She liked sewing of all kinds and made thousands of quilts. The grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren were special joys. She is survived by children, Roberta (William) Becker of Eau Claire, Bernard (Linda) Lancette of Campton, KY, Betty Karpe of Elk Mound, Barry (Patty) Lancette of Eau Claire, and Becky (Steve) Zillmer of Eau Claire; sister, Elaine (Roger) Sharp of Holcombe, WI; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Willie; infant son, Burton; infant daughter, Barbara; brother, Lyman Rivard; sister, Irene Woll; son-in-law, Dean Karpe, and grandson-in-law, Bruce LaMar. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2012, at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cadott, WI with Father William P. Felix officiating. All are invited to a lunch following the Graveside Service at AmericInn Motel & Suites, 809 West Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
