BERTHA A. PETERSON, 99, formerly of Park Tower Apartments, died Saturday, March 22,1997 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born January 20, 1898 to Olaf T. and Anna (Nilson) Jacobsen in Watson, MN. Bertha moved to Colfax as a child and attended school there. She married Harry B. Peterson March 12, 1921 and farmed in rural Colfax for over 50 years.\r\nShe was an active member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church serving in many organ-izations.\r\nSurvivors include a son, Harvey J. (Bertha) Peterson of Ontonagon, MI; a daughter,Ruth (Ronald) Morley, Eau Claire; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; severalnieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son James, a sister Ella, and a brother Walter.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 A.M., Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, with PastorBarbara A. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Big Elk Creek Church Cemetery in ElkMound.\r\nFriends may call 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hourprior to services Wednesday at the church. \r\nBertha will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her wise advice will always be remembered.\r\n
