Betsey A. "Gramma Betsey" Kohlhoff, 84, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Dove Healthcare-West. Betsey was born in Roseburg, OR, on June 22, 1928, the daughter of Charles F. and Hope H. Ross. Betsey married Howard Ives and together they raised four children. They later divorced. She later married Arnold Kohlhoff. He preceded her in death. She worked as a receptionist at Smith Dental office in Eau Claire. Betsey volunteered at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Eau Claire and was a mentor at Meadowview Elementary School. Betsey loved to play Scrabble and was an avid cat lover. Betsey is survived by three daughters, Ronda Nechville of Colorado Springs, CO, Diane (Tom) Blomlie of Chippewa Falls, and Cheri Mattix of Peoria, AZ; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Howard Ives and Arnold Kohlhoff; a daughter, Kathy Luepke; a step-daughter, Sherry Warner; a grandson, Scotty Luepke; brother, Charles Ross; and her sister, Hope Omdahl. A Celebration of Life for Betsey will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave in Eau Claire. Per Betsey's wishes her body was donated to the Mayo Clinic Health System- Department of Anatomy. The family wishes to thank St. Joseph's Hospice and the staff at Dove Healthcare-West for their care and compassion.
