Obituary

Betty D. Borman, 79, of Eau Claire died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Clairmont Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born at her family home in Rock Falls, Wisconsin on February 5, 1925, the eldest of four children to Peter and Emma (Stone) Dahl. She attended the one room Cranberry Creek School and graduated from Durand High School in 1942. She worked as registered nurse in the surgical unit at Luther Hospital following her graduation from Luther School of Nursing in 1946.\r\nBetty married Rudolph B. Borman at Rock Creek Lutheran Church on December 12, 1948.\r\nWith Rudy working road construction they moved to West Virginia, Slinger, Kenosha and LaCrosse, Wisconsin where Betty worked in the pediatric unit at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital. They returned to Eau Claire where they built their home in 1969 and she worked at Luther Hospital in pediatrics until retiring in 1986. \r\nShe was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and Luther Hospital Alumni Assoc.\r\nBetty's interests included doll collecting, plants and hand work with sewing, knitting, crocheting, hardanger and embroidery. \r\nSurvivors include her husband, Rudolph; two sons, Donald Borman of Eau Claire and Randall Borman of Arena; daughter, Jean Borman of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Brian and Jon Borman both of Madison; her brother, Eugene ( Marilyn Ives) of Eau Claire; two sisters, Beverly (Dale) Johnson of Colfax and Carol Johnson of Mondovi; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Doris Dahl.\r\nFuneral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
