Betty Z. Druschel, 85, of Eau Claire died on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. She was born in Monticello, WI on May 11, 1923, a daughter of Raymond and Clara (Gessner) Harschlip.\r\nBetty married Arthur W. Druschel on May 3, 1947, in Eau Claire.\r\nShe had worked at Fanny Farmer Candies, Peters Meat Company, and Bunny Bread Bakery. \r\nBetty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Women of Grace, Sacred Heart volunteers, and founder of the Rock Falls Girls.\r\nOver the years she enjoyed a variety of crafts and handwork, including teaching ceramic classes.\r\nBetty was proud of her German heritage as the great granddaughter of the first white settler of Pepin County, WI, and was a granddaughter of the Pioneer's of North Dakota.\r\nHer family and friends will remember her vivacious personality, winning smile, and eagerness to share a joke and laughter.\r\nBetty dearly loved her family, friends, and pets. She will be truly missed by all.\r\nBetty is survived by three children, Patricia Finn (James) Holmes of Williamsburg, VA, Judith Finn (Thomas) Schmidt of Fond du Lac and Gary (Debra) Finn of Menomonee Falls; eight grandchildren, Brenda (Greg) Burgett of Sheboygan, Peter (Charlene) Schmidt of Mosinee, Amy (Michael) Molepske of Kohler, David Schmidt of Stockton CA, Mary (Paul) Alexander of Circle Pines, MN, Jason (Melissa) Polzin of Lake Mills, Lori (Richard) Kohl of Fairport, NY, and Jennifer Schmidt of Fond du Lac; 12 great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley (Ray) Lawrence of Mondovi; and nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1991; her parents; and two sisters, Arley Peterson and infant, Ula Harschlip.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church 202 W. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\n
