Betty J. Gullicksrud, 87, of Eau Claire, passed away on October 3, 2013 at the Wisconsin Home for Veterans in Chippewa Falls. Betty was born in Eau Claire on February 2, 1926, a daughter of John and Mabel (Severson) Rognlien. She married Harvey Gullicksrud on September 14, 1946, at West Beef River Lutheran Church in Strum, WI, where their family continued to attend until 1967. Betty worked for Uniroyal until her retirement in 1988 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Betty was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Eau Claire Cavalier games. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Betty is survived by her three children, John (Ronetta) Gullicksrud of Rochester, MN, Virginia "Ginny" (Sam) Yanakopulos of Eden Prairie, MN, and Ron (Jenny) Gullicksrud of Eau Claire; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ernest Johnson of Eau Claire; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; and a sister, Norma Johnson. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. James Storlie, the staff at the Wisconsin Home for Veterans in Chippewa Falls and St. Joseph's Hospice for all the friendship, care and support shown to Betty. Funeral Services will be at 11a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd. in Eau Claire, with Pastor James Page officiating. Burial will be at West Beef River Cemetery in the Township of Unity near Strum, WI. Visitation will be from 4 to 7p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
