Betty L. Roach, 77, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, surrounded by her family at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire on September 27, 1929, the daughter of George and Clara (Knudtson) Schneider. She graduated from Eau Claire High School with the class of 1947.\r\nBetty married John O. Roach at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire on May 20, 1950. They later divorced.\r\nShe was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church active in the St. James PCCW and the Adult Choir. She was also a member of the Town of Union Helping Hands, and she enjoyed participating in bible study groups with her friends. Betty devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and her church.\r\nBetty is survived by her five children, Karen (Peter) Schwingle of Rochester, MN, Ginnie (Mark) Ryder and Nancy Roach, both of Eau Claire, Gloria (Gary) Pabst of Osseo, and Allan (Betty Risler) Roach of Eau Claire; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Marcella Bonus, Arlene Saheim, Jack (Dolly) Schneider, Lloyd (Sherry) Schneider, Barbara (Steve) Speckien, and Maurie (Nancy) Schneider; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, George Jr., Richard, Kenneth and Darrell Schneider; and her sister, Rosemary O'Connell.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz celebrating the Mass. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire and one hour prior to services Wednesday also at the church. A public prayer service will be held at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
