Betty Orne, 80, of Eau Claire, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona. Betty was born on July 13, 1936, in Durand, WI, to Archie and Gladys Anderson. She graduated from Plum City High School with the class of 1955. Betty married Don Orne, a marriage that lasted 54 years. He preceded her in death in 2014. Betty worked for Eau Claire County for over 28 years. In her spare time she enjoyed camping and fishing at Bear Lake in Haugen, WI, jig saw puzzles, reading, gardening and planting flowers, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Betty is survived by two sons, Ross Orne of Madison and Ryan (Barb) Orne of Rice Lake; two grandchildren, Amanda (Anthony) Loew and Matthew (KayLee Reinaas) Orne; one great-granddaughter, Maci Loew; and two sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Stein of Plum City and Beverly (Doug) Stein of Pepin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; and her parents. Memorial Services will be at 2p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, with Pastor Peter Soli officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
