Beverly J. (Steahr) Blakeley, age 80, of Eau Claire died Monday, November 25, 2002 at Luther Hospital. She was born January 2, 1922, in Eau Claire the daughter of Arthur and Estella (Dodmead) Steahr. \r\nBeverly married Everett E. Blakeley on December 19, 1940 in Iowa. Following World War II they moved back to Eau Claire. After completing her college education at UW-Eau Claire, she taught for 22 years in the Eau Claire Elementary Public School system at Sherman, Putnam Heights and Park schools until her retirement in 1977.\r\nShe was an active member of Sarah Circle in the United Methodist Women at Lake Street United Methodist Church and ChurchWomen United. She was a member of Eau Claire Retired Educators and Eau Claire Chapter No. 126 Order of the Eastern Star. Beverly volunteered at Luther Hospital and the Chippewa Valley Museum for several years.\r\nShe is survived by her husband of 61 years, Everett Sr.; daughter, Diane (David) Boetcher; son, Everett Jr. (Marty); both of Eau Claire; Beverly also had the privilege to enjoy her five grandchildren, Dorothy Atlas, David (Christine) Boetcher II, Jennifer (Gregory) Mode, Bethany (John) Ellingson and Matthew Fisher-Blakeley; and five great-grandchildren, Todd Atlas, Gabrielle Boetcher, Madalyn Ellingson, Geoffrey Mode and Stephenie Mode; a sister, Carmen (John) Bernhagen of Eau Claire; a brother, Dean (Margie) Steahr of Ashland, NE; she is further survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Erik Boetcher.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Lake Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Ruth E. Overman officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Lake Street United Methodist Church and the Chippewa Valley Museum.
