Obituary

Beverly Blanche Hanson, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, following a quick illness. She was born on April 19, 1930, in Eau Claire, WI, to Walter and Blanche (Baker) Lund. After her graduation from Eau Claire Senior High School, she married James R. Hanson, whose union provided her with two offspring and where many years were spent living on Lake Wissota. After raising her children, Beverly worked at Chippewa Shoe followed by a 20-year career at Eau Claire County Human Services. Upon her retirement, she devoted even more time to her beautiful flower gardens. What fun and enjoyment were had in the springtime planting bulbs, moving perennials to different locations in her yard, and hitting the area greenhouses in search of the best annuals. As the summer progressed, a seat on her back deck provided a beautiful vista of her planting handiwork. The fall season brought out seed collecting from those flowers to use as starters for the next year. Beverly particularly enjoyed the fall and rides on the Hwy 178 River Road to Cornell and other places to view the beautiful leaves as the trees changed, followed by a picnic lunch in Irvine Park overlooking the Glen Loch dam. Attending the fall arts and crafts shows were also a favorite past-time. The holiday seasons were awesome at Beverly's house. Holiday decorations and lights adorned her living room and kitchen, and her holiday tree was absolutely beautiful with the many special decorations accumulated over the years. And let's not forget the enjoyment garnered from playing a kazillion games of computer solitaire. Beverly is survived by two daughters, Barb Hanson (Rich Peterson) of Eau Claire, and Cindy (Mitch) Frisco of Lakeland, MN. She is further survived by her grandchildren Andrea, Leah, and Randy; along with a favorite cousin, Delores (Dodie) Morley (PA); and other relatives. She was preceded by her sister, Adele Devendorf; a grandson, Christopher; and her constant companion dog Poochie is sure going to miss her and that last bite of her snacks. Also appreciated was the friendship offered by Cyndi and Barry Snyder. No longer by our side—but forever in our hearts. Love you, Mom. A private burial was held on October 2, 2015.
