Beverly J. Smith, 75, of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls. She was born in Eau Claire on February 27, 1937, the daughter of Harvey and Elsie (Kreisel) Rickard. She graduated from Eau Claire High School. Beverly married William R. Smith at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Beverly is survived by her son, Scott (Sandy) Smith of Woodbury, MN; sister, Virginia Jacobson of Eau Claire; niece, Vicki (Richard) Dennis of KY; nephew, Verne (Sandy) Jacobson of NC; niece, Voni (James) Boyer of MN; and also by several other great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 West Grand Avenue in Eau Claire, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Orchard Hills Activity Fund, 1403 Truax Blvd., Eau Claire, WI 54703, where Beverly enjoyed spending time with the residents and staff doing activities. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving her family.
