Bonnie O. Lund, 87, died peacefully at home Saturday, June 30, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.\r\nShe was born on "St. Patrick's Day" March 17, 1920, in Wolf Point, Montana to Robert and Vera (Domer) Bailey. Bonnie was raised in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1937. She graduated from the Cosmetology School of Eau Claire. She helped her mother run her restaurant and worked at Gillette's during World War II.\r\nBonnie married Wallace A. Lund on June 19th, 1943 at St. Patrick's Parish. They were married 53 years until Wally's death in 1996. She moved to San Francisco, CA to be with Wally while stationed in the Navy. They returned to Eau Claire where she raised their four children and worked at Presto. Bonnie operated a daycare out of her home for many years. She was an avid member of St. Patrick's Parish and later St. Olaf's Parish.\r\nShe loved and cared for children, not only her own, but for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, their friends and neighbors. She was everyone's "Grandma Bonnie." Bonnie was a fun, loving spirit who was happiest spending time with her family. She always saw the best in people and was there for anyone who needed her. She will be missed for her guidance and words of wisdom.\r\nBonnie is survived by her four children, Ronald (Connie) Lund of Eau Claire, Robert (Lisa Rose) Lund of Eau Claire, Kathleen (Fred) Johnson of Elk Mound, and Steven (Olga) Lund of Eau Claire; eleven grandchildren, Kimberly (Jerry) Sorensen, Angela (Paul) Zank, Kevin (Heidi) Lund, Ann (Brad) Miller, Natasha Ignashova, Trista, Eric, Jerry, Kristine, and David Lund; Twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; a sister-in-law, Jean (Dr. Karl) Walter; and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace; infant twin daughters, Mary and Martha; a grandson, Daniel Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Fr. Rev. Donald Lund.\r\nShe will be missed on earth, but our love for her and fond memories will live on.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at St. Olaf Catholic Church with Father Brian Konopa officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.\r\n
