Borghild "Borgie" M. Gunderson, 90, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona.\r\nShe was born February 27, 1918, the daughter of Maurice and Pauline (Holstad) Gunderson in Chimney Rock, WI. Borgie was the youngest of eight children. She was baptized and confirmed at Chimney Rock Lutheran Church where she remained a life-long member until moving to Eau Claire in 1963.\r\nBorghild was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nBorgie will always be remembered as a friend to everyone.\r\nShe is survived by a sister-in-law, Mabel Gunderson of Strum; six nephews; five nieces; and by several great nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Morton, Thomas, Rueben, and Rudolph Gunderson; three sisters, Mayme Schulenberg, Hazel Babcock, and Ruth Wraalstad. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Chimney Rock Cemetery, Eleva. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services at the church chapel Thursday.
