BRUCE L. OPSAL, 39, of 927 Harriet St., Altoona, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 31, 1999 at Luther Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He was born on November 28, 1959 in Eau Claire, to Lloyd and Murceil (Cleasby) Opsal. Bruce graduated form North High School with the class of 1978. \r\nHe worked in retail sales at Menards and was a computer technician at PC Technologies. Bruce was a member of First Lutheran Church where he was involved with the First Light musical group. In addition to computers his interests included carpentry and photography.\r\nSurvivors include his fiancée, Cathy Schreiner and her two children Greg and Grace all of Fall Creek; his parents, Lloyd and Murceil of Eau Claire; four brothers, Scott (Beth) of Chippewa Falls, Royce (Dawn) of Altoona, Darrin (Chris) and Joel both of Eau Claire; five sisters, Jessina (Mike) Dineen of Chippewa Falls, Renee (Dave) Nichols of Whitehall, Nadine (Dick) Clemans of Plainview,NE, Tina (John) Rohde and Serena (Frank) Russo both of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwood and Gladys Cleasby, and Emanuel and Jessina Opsal.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson and Pastor Jeanne L. Warner officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Menomonie. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nWe love you, we'll miss you and we will never forget you.
