Paul Christopherson, 75, of Eau Claire died Monday, November 23, 2009, at Luther Hospital. He was born in the town of Wilson, Dunn County WI on March 10, 1934, a son of Christ and Edna (Daniels) Christopherson.\r\nPaul entered the U.S. Army on April 5, 1956, and was honorably discharged on April 4, 1958. \r\nPaul married Shirley A. Carlson on March 28, 1956, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. \r\nHe worked as a fork lift operator at Pope and Talbot, retiring after 43 years of service in 1996. Paul served as Vice President of the United Paperworkers International Union for nine years.\r\nHe was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. \r\nPaul lived for his family and was happiest when he was working on the farm. He loved language and wrote every day and shared poetry and many puns. Paul had a great love for music all his life, from playing guitar with his brothers and sisters to singing songs and whistling harmony with Shirley.\r\nPaul is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; two sons: John (Vanessa) Christopherson of Dallas, TX and Charles "Chuck" (Beverly) Christopherson of Eau Claire; five grandchildren: Jason Christopherson of Minneapolis, Jane Christopherson of Milwaukee, David, Sheri and Kala Eslinger all of Eau Claire; a great grandchild, Kristian Ray; brother-in-law Dan Kahl of Eau Claire, sister-in-law, Bernice Christopherson of Elk Mound; many cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends Dave and Della Lee and Richard and Dawn Sedahl; and other relatives and life-long friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, A. Edward, Kenneth , and Phillip Christopherson; six sisters: Jeanette Mickelson, Rachel Kahl, Helen Nowak, Lila O'Flanagan, Elsie Dahl, and infant Alice. \r\nMemorial services will be held a 1 p.m. on Friday, November, 27, 2009, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3715 London Rd, Eau Claire with Rev. Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire where American Legion Post #53 will present military honors. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to American Lung Association of WI, 13100 West Lisbon Rd., Suite 700, Brookfield, WI 53005-2508.
