REV. CARL M. THUROW, 85, of 3545 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI, was taken to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 15, 1999 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, WI. \r\nCarl was born August 16, 1914 in Litchfield, MN. to Theodore and Emma (nee Keller) Thurow. He was ordained into the ministry and installed as pastor of churches at Shirley and Pine Grove, WI in 1941. On December 26, 1943, he married Dorothea Koch of Menominee, MI. He served congregations in Two Rivers,WI; Lamar, CO; Fridley, MN; and Austin, MN from 1953 until his retirement from the ministry in 1984, when they moved to Eau Claire. \r\nCarl is survived by his wife, Dorothea; four children, Carla (Jim) Pelzl, Nona (Paul) Schaller, Theodore (Connie) Thurow, all of Eau Claire, and Paula (Scott) Schwartz of Chippewa Falls; a daughter-in-law, Roxann Thurow of St. Paul, MN; eleven grandchildren (one due to be born this October); one great-grandchild; his two brothers, Theodore (Virginia) Thurow of Milwaukee and Roland (Shay) Thurow of Georgetown, TX; and a sister, Lenore McEachen of Hermosa Beach, CA. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Martin Thurow of St. Paul, MN; and one sister, Ardis Thurow of Chicago, IL.\r\nA victory memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with Pastors Paul M. Tiefel and Mark Gullerud officiating. \r\nA committal service was held today (Friday) at Prairie View Cemetery in the Town of Hallie. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire, is serving the family.\r\n
