Carol A. Johnson, 72, of Eau Claire died Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. She was born in Eau Claire on October 26, 1934, the daughter of Melvin P. and Lela (Erickson) Johnson.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with class of 1952. Carol married Richard B. Johnson in Red Wing, MN in 1952.\r\nShe worked at National Presto Industries, many years at Sears until her retirement, and then more recently for the Charlton Group. \r\nCarol is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, Randy (Sheryl) Johnson and Steven (Lisa) Johnson both of Eau Claire; two daughters, Cindy (Ed) Werner and Laura Thalacker both of Menomonie; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Chad Johnson, Melissa , Adam, Jenna and Amanda Thalacker, and Paul and Kyle Johnson; three step grandchildren, Josh Werner, Aaron and Rachael Wallace; four great grandchildren, Micah and Riley Thalacker, Cameron Johnson, and Kaelynn Brandenburg expected this February; her brother, Wally Johnson of Opelika, Alabama; three sisters-in-law, Jo (Willard) Breden, Norma Heaviland, and Dorothy Johnson; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeffrey Johnson; brother, Duane Johnson and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. \r\nFuneral services will be at held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\n
