Carol J. Johnson, 83, of Eau Claire, died Saturday evening, November 25 surrounded by her family. Carol was born in Eau Claire, WI, on February 26, 1934, a daughter of Amos and Hannah Froseth. Carol graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1951 and married James A. Johnson on December 26, 1959. Carol worked several jobs over the years, but her main focus was raising her family. She also enjoyed being active at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, volunteering at Step Force at Mayo Clinic Health System, and spending time with her friends. Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years; her children, Lynn (Gerald) Salter of Fall Creek, Tim (Susan) Johnson of Champlin, MN, and Cheryl (Brick) Hopkins of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Wolfe, Lucas (Nicole) Salter, Alyssa (Don Schappacher, II) Hopkins, Morgan Hopkins, and Lindsey (Bryant) Billehus; great grandchildren, Reese and Piper Wolfe, Aliza Salter, and Donald Schappacher, III (Tripp). She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and their spouses, Arlene (Robert) Anderson, and LaVerne (Ione) Froseth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Eau Claire, with Pastor Gary Froseth officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, and again from 10:30 until the time of the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. The family would like to give special thanks to Care Partners, Lindeman House in Eau Claire, and the Home Health and Hospice staff, especially nurse Jean, from Mayo Clinical Health System for the tender loving care given.
