Carol Ann Marek, 56, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on January 27, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital due to complications of congestive heart failure. Carol was born in Mondovi, WI on October 17, 1952to Donald&Sharon Marek, and grew up in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was an adventurous spirit and moved to Kentucky for 28 years. She enjoyed a great job and the many people she had an opportunity to work with.\r\nCarol is survived by her brothers, Dan (Barb) and John (Roxanne), and her sisters, Pam Kjesbo&Jane (Steve) Hestekin , all of Eau Claire. She was especially proud of her nieces and nephews; Brad (Jessica & Nikki), Scott (Maurine), Nicole (fiancé Matt Dewitz), Melissa, Kristi, Brian (Kelly), Terry, Chad (Amanda) & Sara (Pat), all of Eau Claire.\r\nThere are many other aunts, uncles & cousins she was fond of, including her great uncle, Paul Watson. Carol was extremely fond of Vicky & Jim Wagner and their family, Jimmy, Jason, Staci, Katie & Nolan. Her best friend since college, Ann Thompson, brought Carol support and friendship, especially during the last three years.\r\nHer love of animals brought Nicholas, Bandit, Little Lady & Reuben into her life. Carol would like any memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society or Humane Society.\r\nA Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Reverend Edmund Klimek officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Another memorial service will be held in Kentucky at a later date. Carol will be truly missed by all those lives she touched professionally and personally. She always loved the educational opportunity in any experience she had in her life.
