Carol V. Olson, 78, of Eau Claire died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at Dove Healthcare. Carol was born on October 20, 1926, near Colfax, Wisconsin in Grant Township, Dunn Cty, the daughter of Carl and Nora (Anderson) Hilson. \r\nShe was baptized at North Valley Running Lutheran Church in Grant Township and confirmed at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church, Menomonie.\r\nCarol graduated from Menomonie High School with the class of 1945. \r\nCarol married Douglas D. Olson in Manhattan, New York on February 9, 1948. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, the Women of the ELCA, the Eau Claire Women of the Moose Chapter 557, and the Telephone Pioneers. She worked for 27 years at Armour Meats, and three years at Wisconsin Bell. \r\nCarol is survived by her husband, Douglas; two sons, Michael (Cynthia) of Green Valley, AZ, and Rodney (Eileen) Olson of Superior; one daughter, Victoria (Joseph) Vinopal of Almena; a brother, Sylvester (Lillian) Hilson of Menomonie; two sisters, Eleanor M. Larson and Borghild (Raymond) Morley, both of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Bradley Olson of Chicago, Brian Olson of Denver, CO, Arin (Toby) Olson of Wrenshall, MN and Cynthia Olson of Superior and Daniel(Maggy) Vinopal of Eau Claire and Gerald Vinopal of Woodbury, MN; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Trevin Olson; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Gilma Wieman and June Schilling.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, with Rev. Paul Oppedahl officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers her family requests memorials be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or the donor's choice.\r\n
