Carol L. Pierce, 71, of Eau Claire died at her home, in the company of her loved ones following a lengthy illness on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. She was born in Eau Claire on July 3, 1937, a daughter of Leland and Jean (Rolland) Sires. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the Class of 1955. \r\nCarol married Donald A. Pierce on October 26, 1984, at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. \r\nShe had lived in Marshfield, WI, Flint, MI, and in Blair, WI, for 18 years where she raised her family. She returned to Eau Claire in 1983. Carol worked as a legal secretary for 35 years until retiring in 1996 from the legal department of American Family Insurance Company.\r\nCarol was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Blair, and Eau Claire Chapter No. 126. Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron. She currently is a member of Chippewa Falls Chapter 112. \r\nCarol is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons, Steven (Barbara) Herrick of Melbourne, FL, and Hugh (Audra) Herrick of Danielsville, GA; her daughter, Susan (Robert) Rose of Victorville, CA; twin granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Herrick, and two grandsons, Eric and Patrick Rose; two sisters, Constance (James) Iverson and Juelie (Robert Gehrke) Sires, both of Eau Claire; and niece Barbara (Mark) Redlaczyk and nephew Bryan Iverson, both of Eau Claire.\r\nCarol was preceded in death by her parents. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire with Pastor Jennifer Elmquist officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
