Carole A. Thorn, 66, formerly of Eau Claire died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation at Chippewa Falls.\r\nShe was born in Mankato, Minnesota on August 25, 1935 the daughter of Charles "Ted" and Leona (Raedel) Hagen. She moved with her family to Eau Claire where she graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1953.\r\nCarole married Clifford R. Lorenz on December 24, 1966 in Eau Claire. Cliff died in 1973. She married Darrel "Doley" Thorn in Red Wing, MN on July 28, 1975. Doley died in 1977.\r\nCarole was a secretary at Consumer's Coop Credit Union many years and then at OK Tire until 1985.\r\nSurvivors include her mother, Leona VanDenbroek of Altoona; two sons, Mark (Debra) Lorenz of Menomonie and David Lorenz of Hallie; two sisters, Janet Holman of Altoona and Marian (Marv) Grzys of Escondido, CA; two brothers, Chuck (Arlene) Hagen of Eau Claire and Jim (Judy) Hagen of The Woodlands, TX; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her father, Charles Hagen; stepfather, Clarence "Van" VanDenbroek; and a brother-in-law, Glen Holman.\r\nMemorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Mann officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the funeral home.
