Caroline "Mitzi" S. Lawler, 83, of 608 Plum St. died peacefully Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Luther Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Eau Claire on January 28, 1919, the daughter of Sever and Adella (Huse) Severson.\r\nVirgil married Caroline "Mitzi" S. Severson in Eau Claire on October 15, 1949.\r\nShe was a Cub Scout den mother and a Sunday school teacher. Caroline liked beadwork, playing the acoustic guitar and singing country western music. She sang with the Oklahoma Ranch Boys on country western radio. Music was often a focal point at family get-togethers. In her early years, Caroline enjoyed target shooting with her twenty-two rifle and longbow. While Mitzi and Bill were dating and first married, they would often go squirrel hunting together. \r\nCaroline is survived by her husband Bill; four children, Kirk (Janet) of Osceola, Angelyn (David) Mickelson, Trenton both of Eau Claire and Lane (Beverly) of Boulevard, CA; six grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Lawler, Trevor, Chad, Tyler and Rachel Mickelson; nine brothers and sisters, Lois Candell, Mabel O'Neill, Donald and Harold (Marge) Severson, Rodney (Mary) Severson, Marion Peterson, all of Eau Claire, John (Donna) Severson of Eleva, Theodore (Dawn) Severson of Black River Falls and Dianne (Gary) Green of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law Robert Lawler of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Severson.\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2003 at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Oliver Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
