Obituary

Caroline V. Stelter, 83 of 1521 Howard Avenue, died Saturday, March 30, 1996 at her home. She was born August 25, 1912 in the Town of Otter Creek to Edward and Dora (Zank) Strauch. On February 17, 1935 Caroline married Elmer A. Stelter in Eau Claire.Some will remember Caroline for delicious baked breads, rolls and donuts made in her in-home bake shop. She was a Avon representative for the last twenty years. As a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church she made communion bread for twenty five years and sang with the church choir for many years. Caroline loved music, especially beautiful hymns and played them often on her organ at home. As a loving, giving person she lived her life to serve and witness for the Lord. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Barbara Wangen and Diane (Bill) Heimstead; a son, Larry (Linda) Stelter; five granddaughters Pam (Bruce) Semingson, Julie (Tom) Vorpahl, Lynn (Jim) Thibedeau, Jodie (Jim) Carlson, Paula (Kevin) Olson; four grandson, Jeff (Debbie) Heimstead, Randi (fiancee Amy Tornowske) Heimstead, Aaron and Jordan Stelter; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jackie and Sara Semingson, Kelly and Carrie Vorpahl, Jacob and Amanda Thibedeau, Jamie, Alicia and Jessica Olson, Heidi and Sam Heimstead, Aimee Patrow and Alisha Tornowske all of Eau Claire; four sisters, Susanna (Lawrence) Bann of Augusta, Sylvia (John) Ramsey of Eau Claire, Luella Smith of Merrill and Phyllis (Joe) Schultz of Maplewood, MN; and a special friend, Art Dobbs of Eau Claire.\r\nCaroline was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1994; her parents; a granddaughter, Renee Wangen; a sister Alfrieda Bauch and a brother, Everett Strauch.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery.Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
